Project Overview
We attended a call-out to a domestic property in Bwlchgwyn, Wrexham (LL11 5YT), where the customer was struggling to lock their uPVC back door. The issue was traced to an obsolete Fuhr multipoint locking system that had been in place for over 20 years and was no longer functioning properly.
After assessing the door and identifying the fault, we advised the customer that the lock would need to be upgraded to restore full security and ease of use. We supplied and fitted a new GU multipoint locking system, which offered improved performance and extra locking points for added security.
Alongside the new locking mechanism, we fitted a set of modern TSS uPVC door handles and replaced the cylinder with an Asec anti-snap Euro cylinder. This combination provided the customer with a secure and reliable locking system, bringing the door up to modern standards without the need for a full door replacement.
The customer was left with a door that now locks smoothly and securely, thanks to the upgraded hardware and improved locking points.

Project Overview
We attended a call-out in Caer Efail, Bwlchgwyn (LL11 5YT), where the customer was having difficulty locking their uPVC back door. The handles were stiff and required excessive force to lift, and the door would not lock reliably. On inspection, we found the existing Fuhr multipoint locking system had failed. The handles and Euro cylinder were also badly worn, likely from years of heavy use while attempting to lock the door.
After discussing the findings with the customer, we explained that the Fuhr system was now obsolete. We recommended upgrading the entire locking system, which would improve security and reliability. The customer was happy to proceed with the quote.
We removed the faulty mechanism and installed a GU multipoint locking system featuring deadbolts and hooks. We also fitted an Asec anti-snap Euro cylinder and a new set of TSS white multipoint handles. As part of the service, we realigned the uPVC door at no extra cost to make sure everything operated smoothly.
The customer tested the new setup and was pleased with the result. Before leaving, we offered a few tips on how to maintain the system to help extend its lifespan. The job was completed to a high standard, and the door now locks with ease and improved security.
